The Role of Natural Gas Utilities in a Decarbonizing World

Thurs. July 18th

11-12:15pm PT/2-3:15pm ET

Today’s energy economy is facing rapid change related to the wide assortment of decarbonization policies and strategies being discussed and implemented at the state and local level. The impacts of these policy changes on the natural gas industry have been largely ignored during the policymaking process and are not well understood. There are both unanswered and unasked questions related to the costs of these policies as well as how these policies will impact the operating environment, businesses strategies, the regulatory environment, and the future outlook of natural gas markets and utilities.

Join our webinar to hear from ICF on how decarbonization can be approached for the benefit of utility customers and the environment. We are excited to have executives from New Jersey Resources to talk about their experiences in New Jersey. Together, we will discuss the current decarbonization landscape and review different methods to leverage renewable natural gas, decarbonizing the gas stream, and approaches for natural gas utilities to play a significant role in a low carbon world. We will also assess different approaches to working with regulators, policymakers, and other stakeholders during the policy process. Attendees will learn and participate in finding answers to:

  • Where should natural gas utilities look to fit into a "decarbonized future"?
  • How will different policies affect natural gas utility businesses?
  • How can natural gas utilities participate in the decarbonization transition?
